Who we are

Judah J. Ariel is the founder of Ariel Law. With a distinguished background in appellate litigation, dispute resolution, administrative law, and public international law, and experience spanning private practice, government service, and public policy, Judah brings a strategic and analytical approach to complex legal challenges.

Judah earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law. He began his legal career at Sidley Austin LLP, where he worked in the firm’s international practice group. During his tenure at Sidley, Judah represented major corporations, foreign governments, and trade associations in high-stakes disputes before the World Trade Organization and international arbitration tribunals.

Prior to law school, Judah served as a senior advisor to Congressman Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.), a member of the Ways & Means Committee. In this role, Judah played a key part in shaping trade and foreign policy, helping to draft and pass legislation on refugee protections, illegal logging, and access to safe drinking water. He was instrumental in negotiating the first-ever binding environmental standards in a U.S. trade agreement.

Recognized for his meticulous legal work and commitment to pro bono service, Judah has been described by former colleagues as “consistently excellent” and “one of the best associates in recent years.”

A product of Cleveland, Ohio, Judah lives in Washington, DC, where he enjoys the vibrant arts scene, cheering on Arsenal FC, reading non-fiction, and supporting important social causes. Judah has lived, worked, or studied abroad in Israel, Croatia, Bosnia, India, and Australia, and has seen Phish perform live more than fifty times.
